C&K West End Kindergarten has been operating for 100 years. With our long-held reputation for providing quality early childhood education in the local community, it's hearting to note that many children in our care have parent's who've also attended the centre. Our centre has a lot of character. The original building dates from 1919. Inside, it's open planned and spacious, so the children have a large environment to explore. Two substantial outdoor spaces are also utilised by children. Sustainability is a priority at C&K West End. Our centre was recently insulated via Brisbane City Council Sustainability Grant and solar panels were installed on our roof so that in the future we will be able to generate our own power. We incorporate sustainability practices and projects into our curriculum which is embraced by the children. Operating hours are from 8.30am to 2.30pm, on a five day fortnight program, (5.5 hours per day)C&K Community Kindergartens are closed on pupil free days and public holidays. Music is at the heart of our curriculum and this is supported by a Kodaly trained music teacher who visits both groups each week.
